Our Cambridge Foot & Ankle Pain Clinic has a registered osteopath that uses manual therapy and prescriptive exercise to treat and manage foot and ankle pain. The aim of the treatment is to reduce the severity of the pain, improve mobility and stability of the foot and ankle.
What can cause Foot and Ankle pain?
These are conditions that osteopaths can treatment
Plantar Fasciitis – a disorder that results in pain in the heel and bottom of the foot
Tendinopathies – Either tendon strains or microtears
Myopathies- Either muscle strains or microtears –
capsular joint sprains
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome – a compression neuropathy and painful foot condition in which the tibial nerve is compressed as it travels through the tarsal tunnel.
Referred Pain from either the Low back and Pelvis (Sciatica) –

Osteoarthritis – a type of joint disease that results from breakdown of joint cartilage and underlying bone
Morton’s Neuroma – a benign neuroma of an intermetatarsal plantar nerve, most commonly of the second and third intermetatarsal spaces (between 2nd−3rd and 3rd−4th metatarsal heads), which results in the entrapment of the affected nerve.
Gout -A form of inflammatory arthritis characterized by recurrent attacks of a red, tender, hot, and swollen joint. Pain typically comes on rapidly in less than twelve hours. The joint at the base of the big toe.
